Littlestock Brook Flood Management Scheme
Information about the Littlestock Brook Flood Management Scheme
The storms of 2007 brought havoc to our village and for a few days we were almost cut off. One of the parts of the village that suffered considerable was The Heath with many of the houses there flooded. The Heath is on the confluence of the two arms of Littlestock Brook, usually a totally benign brook but on that day, with a month of rain falling in 24 hours, it overtopped its banks in many places.
The Parish Council in conjunction with the Environment Agency and Wild Oxfordshire have installed a series of dams as the first stage in taming the brook when swollen by rainwater.
